At the toy store, Grant saw life-sized Sesame Street characters, including Elmo.
Grant: Momma, look! It's Sesame Street!
Me: Yes.
Grant: I wish dey were awive. Dat way dey could pway with me.
At dinner tonight:
Grant: What are you eating?
Me: Hummus with sesame seeds.
Grant: Sesame seeds? Did you get those from Elmo?
Why Now?
I've finally decided to start blogging about our family. What prompted it? Mostly Mike's deployment to Iraq. The best part of our day together is telling all the funny, sweet and interesting things the kids did that day. This is the best way to share that. I will be trying my best to keep it current, but it isn't easy being all things to all people in this house while Mike is away!

Chicken
(No context, totally random)
Ella: So, does chicken come from chicken?
Me: Um, yes chicken comes from chicken.
Ella: So, you're telling me that the chicken from HEB (our grocery store) comes from a chicken?
Me: Yes.
Ella: Huh.

Go Bunnies
This is what Ella wrote on a whiteboard at Mike's office. Mike said the ladies found it pretty funny. She is nearly obsessed with bunnies, and hates snakes since they eat bunnies.

Toots
Me: (Ella sitting next to me) Ella, if you need to toot, please go away and do it.
Ella: (Running to a corner) OK, mommy is this far enough?
Me: Yes.
Ella: *toot* Uh oh, I just peed a little.
(Ella watched over my shoulder as I typed and when I got to the part about peeing, she said "yep".)
