Why Now?
I've finally decided to start blogging about our family. What prompted it? Mostly Mike's deployment to Iraq. The best part of our day together is telling all the funny, sweet and interesting things the kids did that day. This is the best way to share that. I will be trying my best to keep it current, but it isn't easy being all things to all people in this house while Mike is away!

Down to the lasts...
Sigh. It is now the day before Mike leaves for Iraq. We are down to counting the lasts. Both of us just had a moment of crying...last time Mike puts Ella down for a nap, last time reading books, last time praying with her, last time playing together in the yard, last "nuggle" before bedtime, last supper (pun intended). I keep reminding myself it could be so much worse, like 200 yrs. ago when wives saw their husbands go to war. Their husbands would leave, and they never knew if they were alive or dead until they saw them again, which could be several years. At least I get letters. Hear his voice. See him on the webcam.

Mike--we will be thinking of you while you are in Iraq and praying for a safe and speedy return home to your beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteMandy--we will be thinking of you as you care for two lovely, little children and praying for strength, patience, and laughter during the days while Mike is gone.
