Why Now?
I've finally decided to start blogging about our family. What prompted it? Mostly Mike's deployment to Iraq. The best part of our day together is telling all the funny, sweet and interesting things the kids did that day. This is the best way to share that. I will be trying my best to keep it current, but it isn't easy being all things to all people in this house while Mike is away!

The Ella Archives. Volume 1
Since I haven't sat down and recorded all the funny and embarrassing things Ella has done, I have forgotten most. But this one for sure I will never forget. Grandpa Paul and Grandma Shelly had sent some money for Easter. So I took Ella to Target to pick out a toy. She picked out a pink microphone. It wasn't a real one in the sense that it didn't have batteries or plug in. It just made a subtle echo sound. Or so I thought. I let her have it thinking it couldn't be too loud. I was right. The microphone wasn't loud, but she was. As I was pushing her through Target in the cart, she started belting out Jingle Bells (now remember it is Easter time). It went something like this: JINGLE BELLS, JINGLE BELLS, JINGLE ALL THE WAY. OH WHAT - HEY LADY, THAT IS NOT NICE TO STARE - FUN IT IS TO RIDE IN A ONE HORSE OPEN - HEY MAN THAT IS NOT NICE TO LAUGH -SLEIGH, HEY! It is really hard to capture in words. Just ask me sometime and I can do a great impersonation. Was I embarrassed? Maybe a little but mostly trying hard not to pee my pants since I was 8 months pregnant.
